How Much Would You Pay For Natural Pain Relief?

As we live longer as a species, most of us seem to acquire more kinds of diseases, have more aches and pains, and in general, slowly lose some of our quality of life. This often means the loss of flexibility and mobility that we had when we were young. Today's medicine seems bent on treating seniors as if they were their symptoms instead of treating them as people.

I’m not picking on the medical profession as a whole, because I know many good doctors and health professionals that really care and help people. However, having said that, have you noticed how many medical professionals are just trying to medicate problems away?  My sister and I have been taking our mother, who has Parkinson’s Disease, to a doctor for years.  She’s 82 years old now, but she gets around as if she were much older.  Her doctor seems to have given up on helping her deal with her disease and, instead, seems content to just medicate her.  Every visit is just a futile exercise in adjusting about five or six different prescriptions. All of them have their own particular side effects and combined, who knows what symptoms and complications they may be causing.

I know that medication is needed.  You can’t survive diseases that create chronic pain without them.  However, there are alternative ways to deal with chronic pain.  The Senior Walk-In Bathtub was developed to address a number of things: safety, independent bathing, lifestyle changes, comfort, and certainly a natural way of dealing with pain.

Customer Testimonial

Warm water therapy has been used for millenniums to treat chronic pain.  The Walk-In Tub offers several options.  The soaker model is simply designed to allow a person to sit in comfort while enjoying the relaxing and soothing effects of the warm water.  The hydrotherapy jet (air jets) models provide approximately 12 ports to create thousands of streaming bubbles in the water, which create a massaging action.  In combination with the warm water, this definitely helps deal with the pain that comes with arthritis, rheumatism, swelling, muscle aches, surgical recovery and much more.

Another option would be adding more powerful water jets, which swirl the water and pulses it against specific parts of the body, such as the lower back, knees, and the hips. This creates the feeling of a hundred fingers massaging every part of the body. Fingers that never get tired.

The Walk-In Tub has become a great way of dealing with chronic pain without constantly reaching for a bottle, or multiple bottles, of pills.  Walk-In Tubs tubs don't have adverse biochemical side effects nor can  you accidentally overdose on one.

You can’t get up at 2 a.m., and go looking for a massage therapist, they're just not available at that time. Instead, you could go into your bathroom and sit in relaxing comfort in warm bath, while the jets take the pain away. Any time you wish.

And something else: The Walk-In Tub is a great tool for getting a better night’s sleep. I know as we get older, it’s difficult to deal with all the pain and sleeplessness that comes with it. Walk-In Tubs can definitely help sooth your muscles and relax your body to induce a more restful sleep.

Another Customer Testimonial

While our seniors spend billions of dollars a year on drugs and prescriptions, the Walk-In Tub might just be a good way of helping them save money.  I've heard a few say that the Walk-In Tub is too expensive for their budget. But ask yourself this: How much is your health and peace of mind worth?  The Walk-In Tub has never been more affordable. Especially since we offer the guaranteed lowest price anywhere and provide free shipping within the lower 48 states.

If you have a loved one with chronic pain or if you have chronic pain, then look into getting natural help with a Walk-In Tub.  It's an investment that’s provided real relief for thousands of people who have bought them.

In this article, I discussed how  a Walk-In Tub can be used to provide relief from pain. Today’s medicine often focuses on using prescription drugs to treat pain. Seniors are now finding it affordable to help alleviate their aches and pains by using a Walk-In Tub to take therapeutic warm baths, often reducing their need for more drugs. And, best of all, Walk-In Tubs have no dangerous side effects.

Remembering Our Seniors on Memorial Day

Our country has a great deal of holiday’s. For a country that is only 200 years old, we have created a whole slew of holidays that are specific to our  nation. We celebrate past presidents, religious holidays, secular holidays and many holidays created to remember special events or people.

There is a holiday fast approaching.  We call it Memorial Day.  Unlike Veterans Day that celebrates the service of our military, Memorial Day "remembers" both men and women who died in the service of their country.    Originally known as "Decoration Day," Memorial Day actually began at the time of the Civil War to commemorate both Union and Confederate soldiers who died.  Today it officially marks the beginning of the summer holidays, with labor day marking the conclusion.  Today Memorial Day falls on the last Monday of May.

I can remember  as  a child going to family reunions around Memorial Day.  Relatives would travel hundreds of miles to attend.  Small cemeteries would be visited where family members were buried after being killed in the line of duty for their country.    Some of the grave sites were very old, sometimes dating back to the Civil War, World War I, World War II, and the Korean War.  Small flags would be placed on  graves, along with flowers, and family members would come together for "Dinner on the Ground."  This was a very old practice dating back to the 19th century, where families would spread potluck on sheets and tablecloths on the grass.  There,  families would renew relationships, previously lost, and  talk about special ones remembered.  Memorial Day was truly a day to remember.

Family Memories

I assume we all have special memories of people in our families.  It might be a grandparent or a mom or dad.  In looking back, we often wonder if there was something more we could have done to let them know we loved them.     The bad part about aging is that it often comes with pain and suffering.  Debilitating diseases and typical aches and pains that are a part of the body's way of showing that its just wearing out. It also means that the final years for many, lose some of their magic.

Testimonial for using a Walk In Tub.

Wouldn't it be a wonderful thing to "remember" our loved ones before they are gone.  I'm talking about showing love, respect and appreciation to that special person in our family before they leave us.  There are many ways to do that.  It might be something as simple as a weekly phone call, a surprise visit, a card or letter.  Most still enjoy the old style of communication.

How Walk In Tubs can Help

Another way to show appreciation today is in helping to alleviate pain and suffering.  One of the greatest concepts in recent years was the creation of the Walk In Tub.  It offers so many benefits to seniors.  It permits them to bathe without assistance thus maintaining their dignity.  It provides a completely safe environment while getting in and out of the tub.  It can also provides therapeutic benefits with water therapy such as air jets and water jets that cascade pain relieving comfort over the entire body.  The Walk In Tub is affordable now, and there is no better time to offer this gift of appreciation.

Walk In Tubs can really help.

Most of the people that buy or Walk In Tubs are the children and grandchildren of the seniors.  The seniors sometimes  don't feel that they deserve it or that it's too expensive for their budgets.  But family members know better.  It's time to memorialize our loved ones while they are still with.  Take a look at the Walk In Tub.  It's one of many great opportunities to show your love.

In this article, I discussed how important memorial day is in our country. We celebrate many holiday’s but remembering love one’s we have lost in war is a special one. It reminds us that we can show our appreciation for our seniors before they leave this world. I discuss ways to show appreciation to grandma and pop and how many grand-kids and children of seniors are now finding it affordable to help elevate their aging parents aches and pains by providing them with a walk in tub. I discuss how these walk in tubs can increase their aging parents independence, quality of life, provide therapeutic care and additional comfort plus peace of mind. This shows our senior that we care and provides them with a better quality of life.

While Making a Place for Your Parents, Include Room for a Walk-in Tub

By Kerry Knight

Today we see family’s of all sizes, shapes and configurations. We see the kids moving back in because they are trying to save money. We also see adults moving their parents into their homes to be closer to the grandkids and to help them adjust to the ever-growing demands that their aging parents are faced with. Today, it’s all about having the right kind of space for your particular family.

Spring is in full swing.  It seems like everyone is in the mood for working on their lawns and homes.   Some new homebuyers are finding small, dated homes they can go in and fix up.  Oftentimes, they have to add an additional bathroom to make them truly functional.  With a little TLC, they can turn a house that no one wanted into a modern plum of a pick.  Just by adding a special tub, like the clawfoot tub can make the house appealing to more people.

Others are expanding their own personal homes to include a place for mom or dad.   The living quarters will no doubt provide a small kitchen, a bedroom and a bath, that is especially designed for seniors.

Testimonial for Tub King Walk In tubs

Many grown children are looking for ways to make life easier for mom and dad as they enjoy their golden years.  Sometimes it's not possible to move them into their homes because of space constraints, having careers to deal with, and housing needs that are just not available.    So, many times they will construct a small addition or separate apartment to accommodate them.  This will require special attention to safety and handicap needs.  If the senior has difficulty getting around, there will be the need possibly for wheelchair ramps coming into the apartment, placing the on and off switch for lights lower on the wall, wide doorways and hallways for easy passage with both walkers and wheelchairs, and a bathroom to fit their specific needs.  Grab bars for the walls will be especially needed.

The bathtub is another concern.  Seniors will want to be able to bathe independently if at all possible.  This means providing a bathtub that is safe and easy to enter and exit.  The Walk In Tub is ideal for this.  These tubs come with a door and seal that keeps it from leaking.  They can actually walk in, sit down on an ADA compliant seat, then close the door and lock it.   The tub can be filled with warm water to chest level, and without assistance from anyone, a senior can bathe themselves and rinse with the handheld shower that is within easy reach.  There are also options of air jets, water jets and inline heater for water therapy.

Three Options for Walk In Tubs
When the senior is finished bathing, they simply open the drain, continue to rinse off the soap and begin towel drying.  When the tub is empty, they can open the door and exit.  The entire process is accomplished without anyone's help.  Plus, there are many safety features to keep them from falling.  There is a low threshold on the entrance through the door of the tub.  The set up is typically only 6 inches.  The seat and floor of the tub are slip resistant.  In addition, there is a grab bar within the walk in tub to make it easy to get up and down.

The Walk In Tub is indispensable for insuring safety and independence for mum or dad.  The Walk In Tub can go right into a spot where a traditional bathtub would go.  The installation is not difficult.  The plumbing will match up to existing plumbing and the electrical usually requires only a couple of 110 volt circuits.

As a Walk In Tub company ourselves, we receive phone calls daily from grown children looking for a solution of how to take care of their parents in their senior years.  We are happy to be able to help them at a price they can afford.  What is really gratifying is to get calls from the children after the tubs are installed.   They thank us for solving a big concern they had.  They also tell us about how happy their parents are with their new bath addition.  So in planning a place for mom and dad in their special years think seriously about the addition of a walk in tub.

In this article, I discussed how walk in tubs are being used by families all over the USA. This trend shows family’s having multiple generations moving back to live together. This is especially true for adult who are making room for their parents to stay with them. I discuss how planning for your elder parents' needs can make a big difference for their safety, and independents. Planning for a walk in tub, verses a standard tub can make a big difference. These walk in tubs can increase their independence, quality of life, provide therapeutic care, additional comfort, provide greater support and peace of mind. In addition, Walk in tubs can come with all the bells and whistles to provide real health benefits without breaking the bank. Adults with aging parents are finding that these new walk in tubs are filling a real need for safety and doing the right thing for helping mom and dad enjoy their golden years.

Placing Your Bathtub on a Pedestal

By Kerry Knight

Items of beauty, works of art and yes, elegant bathtubs need to be shown off. We put movie star on pedestals to show them off, why wouldn’t we do the same for a functional work of art like a beautiful slipper tub.

We recently had a couple in our showroom who were shopping for a claw foot tub.  They didn't want just any tub.  They wanted something that was unique and special, something you don't find just every day.  After looking at our "footed" tubs they announced that they just weren't happy with the idea of a tub resting on the legs of some animal.  The chrome, brushed nickel and oil rubbed bronze legs that we carry often display the image of an eagle's claw, and bear claw or an emperor's headdress.  Not everyone  is drawn to that style.  So this couple asked if there was something else they could see.

That's when I introduced the Pedestal Tub.  Many of our claw-footed tubs come with the option of being on a pedestal.  Some call it a skirt or a ring, but most just refer to it as a Pedestal Base.  Most remark that it makes the tub look more contemporary, more modern.
But it also makes it look even more elegant.  Just after the turn of the twentieth century, the pedestal tub became the tub of choice for the elite, sophisticated, and wealthy.  During the roaring twenties, it was a popular item at parties and new-worthy events.  I remember reading about a party during prohibition.  There was gunfire as the Revenuers came in with guns blazing.  One guy jumped in the cast iron tub filled with gin.  He survived but was very tipsy when he came up.

Check out this video on double slipper tubs

There is a big event-taking place in our city where the theme is a throwback to the roaring twenties.  A couple of reps for this project came by our showroom recently and RENTED one of our pedestal tub for the event.  They said this was going to be the centerpiece for the entire event.

The cast iron and porcelain tubs that we offer with the pedestal base instead of legs would include:
  • The Dual Ended in sizes of 60, 66 inches and 75 inch lengths.
  • The Slipper Tub in sizes of 61 and 67 inch lengths.
  • The Traditional Roll Tub in sizes of 61 and 66 inch lengths.
  • The Double Slipper Tub in the 72 inch length.
  • The Slight Slipper Tub in the 72 inch length.

Double Slipper Pedestal Tub
The pedestal tubs will typically weigh around 100 pounds more than the footed tubs due to the massive skirt.  Make sure to check the support capacity of your floor when considering it, although for the majority of homes, this weight will not be a problem.  The tub will set up slightly taller, so the step over may be a little more than the footed tubs, but again, it's not prohibitive.

The pedestal tub is definitely in a league of its own.  When considering your purchase of a claw-footed tub, you might want to give it a look.

In this article, I have discussed how claw-footed tubs can be purchase with a pedestal instead of the traditional claw feet. Adding a pedestal totally changes the appearance from a more Victorian look to that of a modern or contemporary bathtub. A pedestal roll or slipper tub provides that modern look that may desire and it’s a great addition to most of our claw-foot tubs.
